Bushnell NEO XS Golf GPS Watch Review
The Bushnell NEO XS Golf GPS watch is a solid and competitively priced entry-level GPS watch that offers functionality and a few features that may surprise you. The GPS watch provides accurate yardage and is easy to read. Although it doesn’t come with the bells and whistles of the high-end GPS watches, it certainly gets the job done. While it’s not at the top of our list, Bushnell’s solid product squeaks in on the elite list of the best. This watch’s readability, dependability, and price make it one of the best golf GPS watches of 2016.
Pre-loaded Courses –
This GPS watch offers over 33,000 courses in 30+ countries and does not require registration or a subscription fee. This is a standard number of courses for most GPS watches and will provide you with coverage for all of your rounds. Just don’t expect it to locate that six hole executive jungle course in Indonesia.
Hazard Yardage –
This GPS watch provides the yardage to up to four hazards on a hole. This equates to yardage to bunkers, lakes, creeks, and other round-ruining impediments. The hazard function is somewhat of a luxury for a golf GPS watch at this price and can be extremely helpful.
Other Features –
The Bushnell NEO XS golf GPS watch includes many of the standard golf GPS watch extras. It automatically locates the golfer to advance holes, selects the course that you are on using GPS satellites, and includes an odometer. However, one unique feature that the watch includes is the “tee time” feature. This feature allows the golfer to enter an anticipated tee time causing the watch to automatically enter golf mode seven minutes before the specified tee time. Admittedly, I have no idea why this feature exists.
Watch Face –
The Bushnell Neo XS Golf GPS Watch offers yardage to the front, middle, and back portions of the green. The watch-face is easy to read and avoids looking cramped with data. See below for a few of the color options and a clear view of the yardage function.
The Bushnell neo XS golf GPS watch is aesthetically sound. It avoids the “clunky” look and feel that some GPS watches suffer from, and can you can wear it in just about any setting.
Overall, this watch is a great option for budget-conscious golfers looking for more than the traditional “front, middle, back” yardages to the green. The price point for this GPS watch is great and it includes a few features that you may not find with similarly priced items. We recommend comparing this watch to the Garmin S2 before making a purchase. But there is no doubt that this is one of the best golf GPS watches of 2016.
